The 2300 residential automatic door opener is designed to function in a residential application only & cannot be used commercially or in any public space.
The arm of the handicap door opener attaches to the door and opens and closes the handicap automatic door when it receives the signal from a wall switch or remote opener. It is geared to a high ratio similar to a 5th gear in a car so that the door is able to be opened manually with only slight resistance & without activating the handicap door opener.
Handicapped door openers should always be installed on the inside of the home to protect them from the weather and possible vandalism.
The jamb-mount handicap door openers push the door open and door-mount handicap door openers pull the door open. The type of automatic door opener you will need to order is determined by evaluating if you need to push the automatic handicap door or pull it open when the automatic door opener is mounted on the inside.
When ordering a wall switch for the exterior we recommend the use of our weather box which is built to withstand extreme temperatures and will last a lot longer than a regular wall switch when installed on the outside.
Handicap door openers are also offered with hand held transmitters, an electric door lock and a battery backup for power outages. |
